Jessica Crighton

I have always had a strong passion for animals and art, from an early age I was surrounded by dogs, rabbits, sheep, goats and ponies! And like most young girls i spent hours doodling horses and ponies… my main love and they are still one of my favourite subjects today!

My mother Catherine is a professional artist so my art has always been encouraged and inspired by her. However I am mainly self taught, my mother is a pastel artist but I discovered that my medium is acrylic paint and have spent the last few years painting full time and discovering my own unique style. I like to paint bold and contemporary portraits of the local wildlife and animals.

I am based in Fort William and have my own studio open to the public… More information on my Studio page. I also have paintings hanging in several local gallery’s and shops around the highlands. The House of Clan Jamfrie on the high street in Fort William always has a collection of my larger work available to buy in their beautiful gallery. I also have some large pieces at the Adelphi Distillery in Ardnamurchan which is well worth a visit with it’s stunning scenery and you can enjoy a dram while you are there!

I am a member of Lochaber Art Club. I exhibit in their exhibitions every year. I also exhibit at Straffpeffer and Achaderry annual Art Fairs. I aim to do more exhibitions around Scotland in the future!

" Many, many thanks again, this painting is a real treasure. "
